Fiat to launch 2012 Punto and Linea with new features on January 3!

 Fiat India will launch the 2012 Punto and Linea on January 3^rd, 2012 in New Delhi. Fiat India has also planned to open exclusive ‘Fiat Caffe’ dealerships where potential buyers can take a closer look at Fiat products.

The 2012 Punto is expected to come with a music system even on the base variant, improved ground clearance, an effective cooling system and an exclusive Blue color.

The 2012 Punto will be powered by the same engines found on the outgoing model. At present, the Punto is powered by a 1.2-litre (1,172 cc) FIRE petrol motor that puts out 67 bhp of power and has ARAI-certified mileage of 15.20 kmpl. The Punto is also powered by a 1.4-litre FIRE petrol motor that puts out 88.7 bhp of power and has ARAI-certified mileage of 14.03 kmpl while the Punto diesel is powered by 1.3-litre Multijet motor that makes 75 bhp of power and has ARAI-certified mileage of 19.90 kmpl.

With regard to pricing, expect an announcement of a 2-3% price hike from Fiat in January for the Punto. At present, the Punto petrol has a price range of Rs.4.31 lakh – Rs.6 lakh while the Punto diesel has a price range of Rs.5.17 lakh – Rs.6.84 lakh.

2012 Linea

The 2012 Linea is expected to get changes such as auto on/off headlights, new two-tone beige interiors, music system across all variants, rain sensing wipers, improved air-conditioning, increased ground clearance and a new Blue color.

There are no changes in the engine or transmission of the 2012 Linea. It will be powered by the same engines as in the current model which includes the 1.4-liter FIRE petrol motor that puts out 88 bhp of power, the 1.4 litre turbocharged T-Jet petrol engine that puts out 113 bhp and the 1.3-litre MULTIJET diesel motor that churns out 92 bhp of power.

With regard to pricing, expect a 2-3% price hike. At present, the Linea petrol has a price range of Rs. 6.51 lakh – 7.75 lakh, the Linea diesel has a price range of Rs. 7.47 lakh – 8.79 lakh while the Linea T-Jet petrol is priced in the range of Rs. 8.56 lakh – 9.06 lakh.
